Getting started with Sales Planning Integrations

Before you can start using the Sales Planning Integrations features, you need to set up an export connection to Varicent Sales Planning. When you use the pipe builder to transform and manipulate your data, you need to include an Export tool to then use this data elsewhere. You can export to CSV with no extra effort, but if you want to export directly into Varicent Sales Planning and be able to then create a configuration with your pipe and export node, you need to create an export connection.

Creating a Varicent Sales Planning export connection
  1. On the Planning cycles home page, click the planning cycle to open.

  2. Click the Command center icon Screen_Shot_2021-10-04_at_5_40_21_PM.png.

  3. Under the Admin section, click Integrations.

  4. Click the Import data tab.

  5. In the Data connectors section, click Varicent Sales Planning.

  6. Click New connection.

  7. On the Connect to your Database page, enter the following information:

    • Connector name: The name of the connection.

    • Connection URL: The endpoint of the environment.

    • API key: The Varicent Sales Planning API key. See, Generating an API key.

  8. Click Cancel to exit out of the connection settings.

Don't worry, you aren't cancelling your connection settings, you're just done setting up your export connection. Later, when you add an Export tool to your pipe, you will select to use this export connection. See, Creating a pipe.
