Seller assignment files
Seller assignment files contain information about the sellers assigned to your territories. This type of file import allows you to assign sellers to territories in your battle card in bulk, rather than assigning sellers one at a time.
Formatting seller assignment files
Before you get started creating your seller assignment files, make sure you fully understand the file requirements. See Best practices for formatting your data.
Seller assignment files require the following columns:
Column name | Description | Data format | Example |
---|---|---|---|
Email Address | Contains the email address of the seller that you want to assign to the territory. NoteCurrently, we only support emails in all lower case. Mixed capitalization will result in file import errors. | Text | seller01@yourorg.com |
Ownership Percentage | Contains a numeric value that indicates the percent of ownership for the territory. This field lets you assign multiple sellers to a territory and divide responsibility between them. If you only assign one seller to a territory, the ownership must be 100%. | Numeric | 100 |
Territory ID | Contains the unique ID of the territory you are assigning the seller to. | Text | TER-001 |
Effective Date | Contains the start date when your seller assignment is effective. For example, if you hire a new seller, you may want to assign them to a territory after their onboarding completes. In this case you can assign a date in the future and the seller doesn't assume responsibility for the territory until this date. | Date | 2022-01-01 |
End Date | Contains the end date when your seller assignment is no longer in effect. For example, if a seller leaves your organization, you may want to assign an end date for the seller's last day. | Date | 2022-12-31 |
