Visualizing your Sales Planning maps
You can choose between two map visuals.
The Geographies map lets you create and manage territories based on geography.
The Customer accounts map allows you to view just your accounts as they are located on the map. This is helpful when you want to plan your territories using account assignments directly. Territories that have only account assignments in the rules can easily be visualized on the customer accounts map.
Tip
In order to access the Customer accounts map, you'll need to make sure that your customer accounts hierarchy file includes values in the Linked Geo Key column. You'll then need to run a coin sort for your hierarchy data to be up to date.
To choose your map visual:
On the Planning cycles home page, click the planning cycle to open.
Click the Territory view.
On the battle card canvas, select a battle card.
- Switch the toggle from View grid to View map to open the map view.
To visualize the map of your choice, click on the
icon beside the current map, which, depending on which map was last opened, will either be the Geographies map or the Customer accounts map.
In the Map visualization settings pop-up, choose either Geographies or Customer Accounts in the Territory group type dropdown.
Your selection determines the subsequent options you'll see.
If you select Geographies:
You'll next select the rule type you want to visualize:
Geography-based rules only - this will show territories with rules based on the Geographies hierarchy and any account override rules.
Complex rules - this will show territories with rules based on the Geographies hierarchy and any account overrides, as well as any rules based on custom hierarchies. In this view, you can also isolate a single territory to see only geographic regions and accounts for that territory.
If you select Customer Accounts:
You'll next select the rule rule type you want to visualize:
Account-based rules only - this populates accounts where the rules are defined by account assignments only.
Complex rules - this populates accounts where the rules are defined by account assignments and also specific hierarchies.
Then, under Show accounts based on choose a hierarchy to to populate your accounts on the map.
Account hierarchy - populates all accounts uploaded to your customer accounts hierarchy files
Sales activity - populates only accounts that have sales activity
Note
There is a limit of up to 80,000 account pins that can be visualized on the Customer accounts map.
Click View map.
Depending on which map you opened in your previous session, you'll be taken to either the Geographies map or the Customer accounts map.
