Managing complex rules

You can manage complex rules from the map view for segments of the map that are visualized based on your custom hierarchy filters. This is particularly useful when managing territories with the same custom hierarchy, allowing you to visualize and rearrange them easily.

  1. On the Planning cycles home page, click the planning cycle to open.

  2. Click the Territory view.

  3. In the data tray, click the Territory definition tab.

  4. Switch the toggle from View grid to View map to open the map view.

  5. Click the Screenshot_2024-09-02_at_1_10_17_PM.png icon beside Geographies map on the territory grid.

  6. On the Rule visualization page, select Complex rules Geography AND [hierarchy] OR account overrides and then select a hierarchy.

  7. Click Visualize.

  8. Click the expand icon on the hierarchy filter.

  9. On the filter, set the operator Is equal to to filter the hierarchy by. For example If a custom hierarchy that is Industry is being visualized, you can apply the filter Tech to display the territories that have specifically the industry, Tech attached to them.

  10. Right-click on the segment of the map. You will see different options to manage the territories based on your selection of Geo region, Territory or Accounts view. Some notable actions you can perform include the following:

    • Geo region - You can reassign your geographies to other territories with the segment. When you choose the reassign option, the list of territories where you can reassign the geographic region(s) are limited to the territories in the segment only.

    • Territories - You can delete territories from the segment that you've carved out using your custom hierarchy filters.
