Geography-based planning

The map provides an intuitive user interface for creating and managing territories based on geography. It's as simple as selecting segments on the map and creating a territory from everything selected.

The Geographic region view is the default view when you open up the map. It lets you select individual regions rather than existing territories. The corresponding menu options provide actions relevant to those geographic regions, such as the ability to create a new territory from the selected regions, reassign geography region or unassign from territory.

When you create territories based on geography, this means that you're using your standard Geographies hierarchy data to create your territory rules. The geographic regions available for selection depend on the geographic level you chose when setting up your hierarchy data. For example, you may have added data for the US at the zip code level, for Canada at the province level, and for France at the country level. This means your territory rules would include zip codes for US territories (Geographies = 10001, 10002, 10003), provinces for Canadian territories (Geographies = Ontario), and the whole country for France (Geographies = France).
