Importing data files into Varicent Sales Planning

The data you import into Varicent Sales Planning is essential for territory and quota planning. There are seven types of files that you can import:

Tip

You don't have to import data files in a specific order, but the data in one file can impact the data you need to provide in another. We recommend creating and importing your data in the order shown in the list.

  1. Hierarchy files - includes data about the hierarchy structures you are using to plan your territories

  2. Territory rules files - includes data about your territories and contains the territory rules you will use to sort activities into territories

  3. Activity files - includes data about your sales activities (actual, not forecasted)

  4. User files - includes data about the users in your sales organization

  5. Pin set files - includes data about locations important to your organization, so that you can mark them with pins on the map.

  6. Quota files - includes data about how you plan to allocate quota across your territories.

  7. Seller assignment files - includes data about the sellers assigned to your territories.
