Adding pin sets using existing data

When you import pin set data into Varicent Sales Planning, we save your data as a data table. When adding a new pin set, you can choose to use existing pin set data. You'll then be able to select from the pin set data you've previously imported. This means that if you add a pin set to a battle card and want to reuse that same data in another battle card, you won't need to import the same data twice.

  1. On the Planning cycles home page, click the planning cycle to open.

  2. Click the Territory view.

  3. On the battle card canvas, select the battle card that you want to add a pin set to.

  4. In the data tray, click the Territory definition tab.

  5. Switch the toggle from View grid to View map to open the map view.

  6. Click the pin icon location--person.svg and then click document--import.svgAdd pin set.

  7. Select Use existing pin set data.

  8. Select the data source that contains your pin set data from the drop-down list.

    Note

This data source is based on a previously imported pin set file. For example, you may have imported a pin set file to a different battle card and now you want to reuse it in your current battle card. When you import a pin set file, we save it under the data table name you entered so that you can use it again.

  9. Customize your pin set settings:

    1. Enter a name for your pin set.

This name displays in the map pins drop-down. You can select it to view this pin set on the map. The maximum character limit is 20 characters.

    2. Select a pin set icon.

This determines which icon we show to display your pins on the map.

    3. Select a pin set color.

This determines the color of your pins on the map.

  10. Click Add pin set.
