Varicent Sales Planning Release 98
Week of July 28, 2025
Manage account moves with Assistant
You can now leverage the Sales Planning Assistant for territory management, making moving accounts between territories more flexible and efficient than ever before. You can now move accounts between territories with ease using our Assistant by explicitly stating which accounts to move or by asking the Assistant to list territories and then moving a subset or all listed accounts. Assistant will create an override or update the base rule depending on the kind of move being done. You'll just need to specify the account key and territory ID instead of names, as there may be duplicates of territory names.
For example, if territory 1 has accounts A, B and C, you can ask Assistant to move account C to territory 2. This is for instances when the base rule is made up of simple hierarchies such as geographies and accounts. For instances where territories have custom hierarchies in the rules such as product, Assistant keeps the base rule of the source territory intact and just creates an override in the destination territory. For example, if territory 1 has Geography = CA and Product = Laptop, and territory 2 has Geography = NY and Product = Automobiles, Assistant will move accounts from territory 1 to territory 2 and add the new accounts as overrides (i.e. accounts falling outside of a territory's base rule configuration).

Compare your Customer accounts maps across scenarios
Scenario comparison is now updated to include comparing between Customer accounts maps. If your Sales Planning map is configured to open to the Customer account map view, you can go into compare mode for the scenario, choose another scenario to compare against and this will give you a side by side view of the two customer account maps. From here, you can easily perform your desired action on each map separately to gain valuable insights and make informed decisions.

Enhanced data correlation with description fields in exports
We understand the importance of seamless data integration between our Sales Planning tool and your internal systems. To facilitate this, we've enhanced our export functionality to include description fields within battle cards and territory groups. This means you can now correlate data using more than just the ID field, making it easier to align with your internal processes. In addition to the exports Territory Groups, Battle Card Information, and Manage l Account Move, we have now also included the following exports:
Territory Rules
Workflow status
Coinsorted activities
Updates to quota adjustment process
We’re happy to introduce a new way to handle quota adjustments in Plan. When working with large data sets exceeding 700,000 rows, you’ll now see quota adjustments processed asynchronously. This means you can make all your adjustments at once and then hit the new publish button to calculate the outcomes, without having to wait for the grid to update in real-time. This change allows you to focus on making the necessary adjustments without interruption. For battle cards with smaller volumes of data, you’ll continue to enjoy the current experience, as the publish button will only appear dynamically when the volume threshold is met. This update ensures that we can handle larger volumes of data efficiently, providing a seamless experience regardless of the data size.
