Viewing territories

When you select territories to view, an insights card displays on the map. It pulls data directly from your sales activity data and tells you how many territories you've selected, how many accounts are within those territories, and the total sales value of the selected territories.

Note

Some territory rules may not be mappable, for example, if the rule has exclusions, it can't be shown on the map. If a territory rule is not mappable, a hidden icon view--off--filled.svg displays next to the territory on the territory grid.

  1. On the Planning cycles home page, click the planning cycle to open.

  2. Click the Territory view.

  3. On the battle card canvas, select the battle card that contains territories you want to view on the map.

  4. In the data tray, click the Territory definition tab.

  5. Switch the toggle from View grid to View map to open the map view.

  6. Click the Territory option from the dropdown menu on the top-left corner of the map.

    This lets you select your existing territories.

  7. Use your preferred selection tool to select territories on the map:

    1. Click the pointer icon.

    2. Click a territory to select it.

    3. Repeat step 2 to select as many territories as required.

    There are three ways to clear your selections:

    • Click the selected territory again to clear that selection.

    • Click close--outline.svg Clear selection on the Insights card.

    • Press escape on your keyboard to clear all selections.

    1. Click the lasso icon.

    2. Click the Add to selection icon shape--unite.svg.

    3. Draw a polygon on the map through the territories you want to select (click on the map to start drawing and click again to change direction).

    4. When you're ready to close your polygon, hover your mouse over a corner where your lines intersect, and then click to close the shape.

      All territories within or touching your polygon shape are selected.

    There are three ways to clear your selections:

    • Click the Remove from selection icon send-to-back.svg, and then draw a polygon through your selected territories to clear the selection.

    • Click close--outline.svg Clear selection on the Insights card.

    • Press escape on your keyboard to clear all selections.

  8. Review the available data on the Insights card. Change your selections as required.

Filtering territories on the map

You can apply filters on the map to customize what you see on the map. You can group and sort the territories on your my by different categories.

  1. On the Planning cycles home page, click the planning cycle to open.

  2. Click the Territory view.

  3. On the battle card canvas, select a battle card.

  4. In the data tray, click the Territory definition tab.

  5. Switch the toggle from View grid to View map to open the map view.

  6. Click on the Filters option under the Geographies map section.

  7. Select from the available options to define how you want your territories to be grouped on the map. You have the following options:

    • Territory group (level 1)

    • Territory

  8. If you want the map to display territory colors by the ones assigned to individual territory groups, then you can turn on the toggle Color by territory group.

  9. Next, select from the available options to define how you want your territories to be sorted on the map. You have the following options:

    • Territory ID

    • Territory name

Hiding territories on the map

You can hide the territories so that they are invisible on the map.

  1. On the Planning cycles home page, click the planning cycle to open.

  2. Click the Territory view.

  3. On the battle card canvas, select a battle card.

  4. In the data tray, click the Territory definition tab.

  5. Switch the toggle from View grid to View map to open the map view.

  6. On the territory grid, hover over the territory or territory group that you wanted to mark as hidden on the map.

  7. Click the Screenshot_2024-09-04_at_10_16_59_PM.pngicon.

    The territory or territory group you marked as hidden is greyed out and displays the Screenshot_2024-09-04_at_10_22_19_PM.png icon beside it. On the map, these territories or territory group will not appear as coloured and you will not be able to perform any edit actions on them.

    Note

    Any hierarchies associated with territories or territory groups marked hidden will not be available for selection for visualizing complex rules on the map.

  8. To un-hide the territories and territory groups, click the Screenshot_2024-09-04_at_10_22_19_PM.pngicon again.

Locking territories on the map

You can lock territories so that they modifications you apply elsewere do not impact the locked territories.

  1. On the Planning cycles home page, click the planning cycle to open.

  2. Click the Territory view.

  3. On the battle card canvas, select a battle card.

  4. In the data tray, click the Territory definition tab.

  5. Switch the toggle from View grid to View map to open the map view.

  6. On the territory grid, hover over the territory or territory group that you wanted to mark as locked on the map.

  7. Click the Screenshot_2024-09-04_at_10_28_51_PM.pngicon.

    The territory or territory group you marked as locked displays the Screenshot_2024-09-04_at_10_30_41_PM.png icon beside it. On the map, these territories or territory group will not be available for modificatons.

    Note

    Any hierarchies associated with territories or territory groups marked locked will not be available for selection for visualizing complex rules on the map.

  8. To un-lock the territories and territory groups, click the Screenshot_2024-09-04_at_10_30_41_PM.pngcon again.
