Initiating a quota approval workflow (administrators)
When you initiate a quota workflow, contributors can log into Varicent Sales Planning to view and adjust quota allocations for their assigned territories. A progress bar on the battle card shows the completion rate of the workflow.
Before you initiate a quota workflow, make sure to complete the following tasks:
Assign owners to all battle cards, territory group types, and territory groups in the planning cycle. See, Adding battle cards and Adding territory groups.
Invite all battle card, territory group type, and territory group owners to be contributors for the planning cycle. See, Inviting users as administrators or contributors.
Allocate quota from the top-down based on your organization's overall business target and your chosen metrics. See, Allocating quotas from the top-down.
On the Planning cycles home page, click the planning cycle to open.
Quick the Quota view.
On the root battle card, click Quota workflow.
Click Initiate workflow.
This starts the quota approval workflow. When a workflow is in progress, contributors can access the planning cycle. Since a quota workflow starts from the bottom up, your territory group owners will make adjustments and submit their changes first.
Note
Workflows are initiated from within a particular scenario of a planning cycle.. This means that contributors access the quota section of their territories for that specific scenario only from where the workflow was started.
