Managing customer accounts

You can manage your customer accounts by using the Account territory alignment option. This option allows for adding new customer accounts to the customer account hierarchy with effective dating and routing these new accounts to a territory. This is helpful for routing accounts that have been introduced mid-year.

Note

Before you start, complete the steps for uploading customer accounts. See Importing hierarchy files to the Customer Accounts hierarchy.

  1. Once your file upload for your customer accounts completes, click the Territory alignment option on the success page.

  2. The following are columns that you can include in your file:`

    • Account Key (required)

    • Current Territory (required)

    • Effective Start Date (optional)

    • Effective End Date (optional)

      Note

The date fields indicate the period that the account aligns with the territory. If you do not add effective dates to align accounts to territories, the assumption will be that the most restrictive of the territory effective dates and the account effective dates are to be used.

  3. Navigate to your pre-formatted CSV file, select it, and then click Open.

  4. Click Next and on the next screen, review your imported data.

  5. Click Import.

A success message tells you how many hierarchies were updated with account territory alignment information. Once you align new accounts to a territory, you will see them in the Aaccount quota grid in Manage where you can continue to redirect them between territories
