Varicent Sales Planning Release 82

Something new this way comes.

Check it out!

Why stop at only moving accounts when you can move quotas too!

As you know, with the previous introduction of our granular-level quota breakdown feature, you can set your quotas at an individual account level. Consequently,we also want to make sure that while moving accounts between territories mid-year, you have a system in place to adjust your territory quotas accordingly. For example, if Account 1 is moved from its original Territory A to Territory B mid-year, you want to ensure that your territory quotas for both territories reflect the change in overall quota that the transition causes.

Key enhancements include the following:

Dynamic quota adjustments

We are introducing the ability to move quotas dynamically along with your accounts between territories and this is available for the Manage version of your plan. Essentially, we will copy over your quotas that you have set up in the Plan version of your planning cycle. Subsequently, when scheduling account moves, you'll have the option to move a pro-rated amount dependant on the effective date or no quota.

Improved data tray elements for account move management

You'll see that the we have made some enhancements to the data tray to better manage and reflect the finer details associated with an account move.

  • On the Account quota grid, we have added a new column called Account quota to which displays the full account quota and and any account transitions to other territories with the quota it moved with. This simplifies the process of managing account moves, giving you clear insights and saving time.

  • On the Territory quota grid, the revised territory quota value for a territory is clickable and shows a drill-down showing all original planned account quotas along with any account and quota moves to and from the territory.

Edit complex rules on the Sales Planning map

Our map keeps getting better! We're excited to introduce a new feature that allows you to manage your territories from the map in a way that's more alligned with your custom hierarchies. For example, sometimes, you may want to plan and arrange your territories based on the products that are assigned to them. If you want to filter by the product laptop, you can do so and also move things around between the territories in a way that's best suited to your business needs. In a way, we are allowing to to get really specific on the map so that you can see and do things at a very granular level.

You can carve out specific segments of territories on your map based on your selected custom hierarchy. This means that when you use the custom hierarchy filter, we look for exact matches and show you only those territories that share the specific custom hierarchy in their rules. From these segments, you can perform various actions, including reassigning geographic regions to different territories or deleting territories. The reassignment options are filtered, showing only the territories within the segment you’ve focused on using your custom hierarchy filters. For example, if your segment visualizes five territories that have the same custom hierarchy, you will only be able to reassign your geographies between those five territories only. This eliminates the effort of having to filter through a large number of territories.

Consequently, your map views dynamically change depending on the custom hierarchy filter you apply and how you arrange your territories for the individual segments. Each segment view is unique to the specific custom hierarchy filter used, ensuring that the territories are tailored to the selected hierarchy. This feature provides a powerful way to manage and visualize your territories with precision based on your custom hierarchies.
