Varicent Sales Planning Release 96

Week of June 16, 2025

Something new this way comes.

Check it out!

Audit trail component for actions performed by Sales Planning Assistant

We’re happy to introduce a new feature that enhances the transparency of actions performed in your Planning Cycle. Now, when you create new territories or perform other actions through our Sales Planning Assistant, the audit trail will clearly indicate that these actions were performed by the Assistant. This update is designed to help you easily distinguish between actions taken directly by users and those executed via the Assistant. To achieve this, we’ve added a new Performed By column in the audit log. This column will display the user’s email if the action was performed directly through the UI or display sp-assistant if the action was taken through the Assistant. This enhancement ensures that you have a comprehensive view of all activities, providing greater clarity and accountability.

Ability to manage territory groups in Manage version

You can now create and edit territory groups directly in the Manage version of your plan. As an admin, you can now easily address team ownership changes throughout the year by creating new territory groups or editing existing ones as needed. This enhancement allows you to update the name and owner fields of territory groups, whether they were created in Manage mode or pre-existing from Plan mode.

Create territories in Manage mode

You can now create and manage territories directly within the Manage version of your plan, similar to the Plan mode. You can add a unique territory ID, name, assign to a territory group and effective dates within the effective range of the territory group. Once a territory is created, you can assign sellers, and you can also move accounts to the new territory through the account quota grid or re route accounts using account-territory alignment file upload option.

Create territories using Assistant

You now have the ability to create territories effortlessly through our Sales Planning Assistant. This feature is perfect when optimizing to increase your territory count. To get started, simply provide a unique territory ID, a name, the territory group it belongs to, and the associated battle card. Our Assistant will validate these inputs to ensure the territory ID is unique, the territory group and battle card are valid, and all necessary information is complete. Once validated, you’ll receive a summary of the proposed territory details, and you can choose to approve or reject the creation. Upon approval, the territory will appear in the territory grid, ready for you to add rules later via file upload or directly through the UI.
